This poster was part of 20-piece type specimen series printed on a Vandercook proof press. The wheat and quilt motifs were made with a linocut block. The quilt block featured just one iteration of the pattern, so the border of the poster was printed with fourteen passes by moving the linocut around the bed of the press. The final design was produced with a total of eighteen passes.
